Window treatments protect your floors and your home

Window treatments are the perfect example of Form + Function. They add architectural and design interest to a room while also providing important functions. That’s why you should never consider them an afterthought, and it’s why we also carry a full line of Hunter Douglas coverings and treatments for the window.

Whether they’re shades, blinds or draperies, and panels, Hunter Douglas provides the most innovative construction, as well as the widest assortment of colors, fabrics, and textures.

This is in line with our company's philosophy of providing outstanding quality and exceptional service to our customers. We are considered the “one-stop-shopping for all your decorating needs.” No job is ever too small or too complicated for us.

Early's Flooring Specialists & More has been in business for over 52 years, what started as a small basement office in 1966 has grown into a 12,500-square-foot showroom with a large inventory and services that include everything from rug binding to stone and ceramic restoration to water damage repair.

Our showroom is in Amissville, VA, a centrally-located area that’s close to many counties and cities in the state.

The benefits of window treatments

  • They protect floors from sun and heat. Some, like hardwood, luxury vinyl, and carpet fade, become spotty, or even change color.
  • They save energy. It’s the flooring, not the window that controls the temperature of a room. A good example is tile. This kind of flooring is very absorbent. Tile sucks up the cool air so the room stays chilly. It’s also an excellent heat conductor, and that’s why we love to walk on cool tile in our bare feet; it transfers and makes our whole body feel cool.
  • It works the other way, too, so if it’s in direct sunlight and hot out, it will soak that up and you’ll either use more air conditioning or heating than necessary.
  • Reduces the floor’s expansion and contraction. Some flooring, such as hardwood, laminate, and luxury vinyl are affected by weather and need to adjust.
  • When it gets cold, the flooring will lose moisture and shrink, causing gaps. In hot weather, the floor expands, adds pressure, and causes them to change shape and overlap to fit.
  • Provides privacy and safety. When without a window treatment, it is easy for people to glimpse into your home, even when in passing cars, so you 'll feel like you're on display and everyone will know if you’re home or not.
